How Long Does Hangxiety Last?
For most people hangxiety peaks the day after drinking and fades within about a day; anxiety that hangs on for several days is worth a call to a doctor.
The simple answer
Hangxiety is usually loudest the morning after, then quiets as your body clears the alcohol - most people feel better within a day or so. Using more alcohol to take the edge off can drag the anxiety out over several days. If it's still strong after a few days, that can point to withdrawal or a mental health concern, and a healthcare provider can help.
Myth vs Fact
Once you feel sober, the anxiety should be gone too.
Feeling sober is not the finish line. Hangover symptoms can last 24 hours or more, and anxiety can ride along with them.
