What Does Hangxiety Feel Like?
A racing, worried mind full of regret and "why did I say that" - sometimes with a racing heart, sweating and a stomach full of butterflies.
The simple answer
Hangxiety can feel like a general uneasy, on-edge mood, a sense that something bad is about to happen, or embarrassment about the night before. It can also bring sadness, guilt, irritability and brain fog. The body can join in too: a pounding heart, sweaty palms, jitters and butterflies. The same alcohol rebound is behind all of it.
Myth vs Fact
Everyone noticed what you did last night and is talking about it.
Embarrassment about how you acted is itself a hangxiety symptom. The anxious brain replays the night and assumes the worst.
